June 2016

May/June update:
5874 kms - 31 days in front today
You can tell by the lack of an update in May that I had a motivation crash. I rode only 9 days out of the first 21 days of May. Change of weather and the riding in the dark is always a transition that no-one likes. Luckily by the end of the month the Global Corporate Challenge started and I got back on the bike and got going. (we managed to hang onto a top ten spot globally for nearly three weeks! Back to #28 in the world now)
Still struggling to get outside on the weekends but back to five days a week (well, mostly) which is good.
It was a wet month in June. The trick is watching for the windows to open on the BOM radar to try and sneak through without getting soaked. Some days it cant be helped & I've had a couple of cold nights where it rained heavily for the full 75 minutes.
One thing I've noticed is that my times have slowed down & I dont seem to recover from the muscle soreness as well. I guess thats due to all the recovery debt I've loaded into the legs or something. Being well looked after by Michael Linden at NSTT who I must take the opportunity to highly recommend if you are in the eastern suburbs.
So - Solstice is done & the days are getting longer already. We are back to a 7am twilight by the 22nd July which is only 3 weeks away!

  1. Hi Paul, I can add a comment here but not on the latest photos page. Just wanted to say "nice photos".
